Abstract
The enthalpies of formation of the chlorine fluorides ClF, ClF{sub 3} and ClF{sub 5} have been determined by combustion calorimetry in hydrogen. They have the respective values, 13.9, 37.2 and 57.2 Kcals.mole. Two bomb calorimeters with differing principles (high-frequency spark bomb and double compartment bomb) have been developed for this purpose.
