Acid lixiviation of a contaminated earth with the view to the dimensioning of an electro-remediation process; Lixiviation acide d'une terre contaminee en vue du dimensionnement d'un procede d'electroremediation

Abstract

Electro-remediation is a process developed for the treatment of polluted earths and which uses a direct current for the extraction of the pollutants in solution. When this process is applied to a multi-metal system, preliminary physico-chemical studies are necessary to determine the reaction mechanisms responsible for the solubilization of the pollutants. In this work, dynamic experiments are performed with a laboratory column and sulfuric acid is used to change the acidification of the earth. (J.S.)
