Abstract

Det Norske Veritas (DNV) has been a ship classification society since 1864, and is recognised as a leader in today's global classification market. During the past decade there has been a significant growth in the fields of certification and consultacy. DNV is an independent foundation with headquarters in Oslo, Norway, and a network of offices in 100 countries. The offshore oil- and gas installations are an important recent field of work for DNV.
