Abstract
Crystal structure of oxonium-containing analog of eudialyte featuring the composition Na{sub 8.1}K{sub 0.3}Sr{sub 0.5}Ca{sub 3.3}REE{sub 0.5}Mn{sub 1.4}Fe{sub 2.1}{sup 3+}Zr{sub 3.4}Ti{sub 0.1}Nb= {sub 0.1}Si{sub 24}O{sub 68.3}Cl{sub 0.3} {center_dot} nH{sub 2}O, where REE - rare earth, n {approx} 10, was determined by the method of X-ray diffraction analysis. Parameters of the trigonal cell are: a = 14.167 (2), c = 30.081 (2) A, sp.gr. R3{sub m}, d{sub calcld.} = 2.83 g/cm{sup 3}. A frame made of 3- and 9-member rings of SiO{sub 4} tetrahedrons bound by Zr- and Ca-octahedrons constitutes the basis of the studied mineral structure. According to IR spectroscopy data the presence of oxonium cation for replacing Na{sup +} cation is the main feature of the mineral.
