Abstract
This document presents a forecast of the necessary investment for the Brazilian electric power sector, related to the period of 1993-2010, based on the expected economy behaviour in the period. Some scenery of economic growth and investment program combinations are used. The work finally concludes for the investments of approximately US$ 6.5 billions per year between 1993 and 1995, US$ 9.2 billions between 1996 and 2000, and circa US$ 11 billions for the period of 2001 to 2010, amounting US$ 175 billions.
