Achievement report for fiscal 1998 on the research and development of human sensory measurement application technology. 1. Outline; 1998 nendo ningen kankaku keisoku oyo gijutsu no kenkyu kaihatsu seika hokokusho. 1. Gaiyohen

Abstract

On the basis of the result of an analysis conducted for typical working conditions, indexing is proposed of combined fatigue/alertness impacts on physiology. Efforts are made to standardize measuring systems and to develop measured values into a database. Programs are developed for standardizing techniques of measuring on the free declaration basis the impression generated by things and space and for supporting such techniques. Structural impression models are constructed. From the relationship between the visual psychological/physiological quantities and the physical quantity of texture, a visual quality index is derived for textile goods. An index expression is developed into a formula in relation with habituation to noise and sensation of fatigue. Application cases are expanded in which the indices involving physiological sensation, environments, and product compatibility are reflected on the designs of daily-use commodities and living/working circumstances, and new data are accumulated. A data base model and a perspiration-capable mannequin is completed which estimates man's sensation upon exposure to heat. A common subjective technique of stress evaluation, an advanced technological infrastructure for fatigue indexing, and an experiment of respite environment-related cases with human sensation indices applied thereto are mentioned.
