Bactericidal effect utilizing titanium dioxide photocatalysis; Sanka chitan no koshokubai hanno wo riyo shita kokin sayo

Abstract

Recently, the product development which noticed antimicrobial action of the titania photocatalyst has become popular. The food additive has recognized the titania. It is completely harmless. It is based on active oxygen which is created, when the germicidal action was excited optically only. Other antimicrobial agent completely differs different in the property. It feels the discomfort so that the titania may be an antimicrobial agent in the meaning. It is active oxygen in which antimicrobial agent is consistently formed by photochemical reaction. The titania is a generation mechanism of the active oxygen. (NEDO)
