Abstract
Consideration is given to scenario of Z-pinch development in frozen deuterium filaments, taking account of the difference between discharge in dielectric and discharge in metallic wire. The used approach enables to understand the abnormal pinch stability and provides quantitative description of observed neutron yield. 8 refs.; 2 figs.
