Hydrothermal synthesis and structure of nickel(II) metavanadate monohydrate, NiV{sub 2}O{sub 6}.H{sub 2}O

Abstract

The structure of NiV{sub 2}O{sub 6}.H{sub 2}O consists of infinite chains of [VO{sub 4}] tetrahedra running along the [100] direction connected by isolated [Ni{sub 2}O{sub 8}(H{sub 2}O){sub 2}] dimeric entities to build up a three-dimensional network. A valence-bond analysis allows the identification of the O atoms of the water molecules. (orig.).
