Abstract
The new V{sup III} monophosphate, calcium divanadium oxodiphosphate, CaV{sub 2}O(PO{sub 4}){sub 2}, is isotypic with the Cd phase. Its structure consists of [V{sub 2}PO{sub 7}]{sub {infinity}} layers, built up from [VO{sub 4}]{sub {infinity}} rutile chains and [VPO{sub 8}]{sub {infinity}} chains, interconnected through PO{sub 4} tetrahedra. This framework delimits tunnels running along left angle 011 right angle , at the intersection of which the calcium ions are located in a `6 + 1` coordination mode. (orig.).
