Abstract
This order made by the National Board of Health also implements Directive No. 84/466 Euratom of 3 September 1984 laying down basic measures for radiation protection of persons undergoing medical treatment. The Order prescribes measures to protect patients treated by electron accelerators using energies from 1 MeV to 50 MeV. It contains provisions on approval procedures for electron accelerators, their design, the shielding and safety systems for premises where they are housed, their supervision and quality control and finally, their inspection by the Board of Health. (NEA).
