Abstract
The phenomenological problem of the character of charge transport in metals is investigated experimentally and analytically by taking Al in transverse inhomogeneous magnetic field as an example. The inhomogeneity of magnetic field is modelled by a method of << bending sample>>. This makes it possible to realize the linear and exponential laws of field behaviour with a relative inhomogeneity of the order of 0.05-1 cm{sup -1}. The experimental results are analysed by using the equation of continuity with due account of linear field dependence of magnetoresistance.
