Abstract
It is shown that synchrotron sidebands of linear betatron coupling resonances which limit the performance of LEP and DORIS III are excited by a vertical dispersion at sextupoles without any linear coupling. Synchrotron sidebands of integer and half integer resonances with a distance of half the synchrotron frequency are excited by a horizontal dispersion at sextupoles. (orig.)
