Abstract
In order to produce a major contribution to the electricity supply in Switzerland with the aid of photovoltaics, two major basic preconditions must be met - economically viable current generation costs and overcoming the land consumption factor for large photovoltaic systems. The reuse of rail and road is the key idea which is developed within the framework of this pilot and demonstration project of the Federation. 12 figs., 4 tabs.
