Abstract
By means of the project `electrification and urban development`, the demand for information recording and processing of an urban and technically historical research program is determined, the specific requirements are defined and a conception is developed as to how a historical information system (HIS), supporting the research as well as the presentation process, would have to be. With this, the process of electrification of the city (illumination, electric motorization, electric tram) as infrastructural innovation has been investigated with regard to quantity as well as to quality. The mechanical record and presentation of space related data (for ex. old cards and plans, but also information on the structure of sociology, economics and population which can be gained from historical sources such as address books) and structural-spatial changing processes (soil utilization, structural urban extension, expansion of infrastructural networks such as gas, electricity, tram) are in the foreground. Based on the methods, which have been developed for the so-called `rural information systems` (in the field of geodesy), an information system is conceived and implemented prototypically, which, on the one hand, considers partly the bad state of historical sources, and on the other hand, the special demands of historians for information technical tools. [Deutsch] Am Beispiel des Projektes `Elektrifizierung und Stadtentwicklung ...` werden der Bedarf an Informationserfassung und -verarbeitung eines stadt- und technikgeschichtlichen Forschungsprojektes ermittelt, die spezifischen Anforderungen festgelegt und eine Konzeption entwickelt, wie ein den Forschungs- wie Darstellungsprozess unterstuetzendes historisches Informationssystem (HIS) beschaffen sein muesste. Dabei wurde der Prozess der Elektrifizierung der Stadt (Beleuchtung, elektrische Motorisierung, elektrische Strassenbahn) als zentrale Infrastrukturinnovation in quantitativer wie qualitativer Hinsicht untersucht. Im Hinblick auf ein raumbezogenes Informationssystem steht zunaechst vor allem die maschinelle Erfassung und Darstellung raumbezogener Daten (z.B. alte Karten und Plaene, aber auch Informationen ueber Sozial-, Wirtschafts- und Bevoelkerungsstruktur, die aus historischen Quellen wie z.B. Adressbuechern gewonnen werden) und von baulich-raeumlichen Veraenderungsprozessen (Bodennutzung, bauliche Stadterweiterung, Ausbreitung von Infrastrukturnetzen wie Gas, Strom, Strassenbahn) im Vordergrund. Basierend auf den Methoden, die fuer die sogenannten `Landinformationssysteme` (im Bereich der Geodaesie) entwickelt wurden, wird ein Informationssystem konzipiert und prototypisch implementiert, das dem zum Teil schlechten Zustand historischer Quellen einerseits und den speziellen Anforderungen von Historikern an informationstechnische Werkzeuge andererseits, Rechnung traegt.
