Abstract
The extraction of Y(III) with either carbon tetrachloride solutions of 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-5-pyrazolone (HPMBP) or 8-hydroxyquinoline (HOx) in chloroform from water-ethanol (EtOH) phase was studied. The adduct complexes Y(PMBP){sub 3} {center_dot} t EtOH and YOx{sub 3} {center_dot} 2 EtOH were found in the organic phase. The parameters characterizing the extraction process of Y(III) were evaluated. The separation factors of Y(III) from Pr(III) and Gd(III) during the extraction with HOx were calculated.
