Abstract
This paper describes the key design, performance and operation features of a mobile lighting system performance measurement laboratory developed by the Italian National Electrical Institute (IEN). The mobile lab, designed to measure, at different heights, illuminance, luminosity, glare, etc., is able to perform the measurements in real time. For example, for a given roadway lighting system, with measurements obtained with the use of this equipment, it is possible to rapidly determine: lighting uniformity, objective and subjective contrast, and annoying and disabling glare.
