Abstract
Tore Supra tokamak operation requires power converters of the poloidal field system for generation and control of the thermonuclear plasma. Equivalent circuit diagrams of converters allow the calculation of the system maximal limits. Establishment of circuit diagrams after the study of generators characteristics and different operation mode during the plasma cycle. The last step is the design of main transformers for converters. Angles of overlap are calculated and verified experimentally.
