Abstract
Some semi-analytical methods, developed for solving the equation for mono-dimensional thermal diffusion in plane and cylindrical geometry, are presented. Such methods (numerical and analytical) solve the heat conduction equations for discrete time intervals and give the solution in terms of functions dependent only from spatial variables. The SATAN computer code, which implements such methods, is described.
