Abstract
Pure quark (modul qqq>) and pure quark-diquark (modul qQ >) models fail to account for the combined data on the Bjorken and on the Gottfried sum rules. These data can, however, be explained assuming a mixture of modul qqq > and modul qQ > provided a vector diquark component of the nucleon persists at infinitely large values of Q{sup 2}.
