Abstract
Results are reported on a lifetime measurement of {sub {Lambda}}{sup 4}H formed in {sup 4}He (stopped K{sup -}, {pi}{sup 0}) reaction. Decay of {sub {Lambda}}{sup 4}H was clearly identified by observing the monochromatic {pi}{sup 0} peak from two-body decay ({sub {Lambda}}{sup 4}H {yields} {sup 4}He + {pi}{sup -} p{sub {pi}} = 132.9 MeV/c). The lifetime of {sub {Lambda}}{sup 4}H was determined to be {tau}({sub {Lambda}}{sup 4}H) = 194{sub -26}{sup +24} ps from a distribution of time difference between the K{sup -} injection and {pi}{sup -} emission.
