Abstract
Comments are offered by the Danish electric power company ELSAM on the Danish government publication regarding energy and environmental policy in Denmark, ``Energy 2000. Plan of management for a sustainable development``. Points for discussion are the continuation of the current developments without consideration of CO{sub 2} emission, political initiatives which are aimed at a 20% reduction of CO{sub 2} emission by the year 2005 without influencing the public needs for energy services, and a concrete plan which shows the effect of the management programme, bearing in mind the governmental ambitions regarding reduction of carbon dioxide.
