Abstract
Energy problems in Poland are discussed in relation to production and consumption, environmental problems and planning. The aim was to point out the possiblities of living up to the main principles named in the ``Brundtland report``, practical suggestions as to the means of restructuring energy production and consumption and the development of an analytic method for determining and evaluating the sustainability of various development tendencies.
