Abstract

On the large scale, there will be an economic pressure in the European Communities on coal and oil from the CO{sub 2} taxes. The economic and ecological advantages of a combination of hydraulic and biomass power in Austria are emphasized. In particular a biomass remote heating pilot project is announced. (Quittner).
