Theory of accelerated orbits in AVF cyclotrons

Abstract

The theory of accelerated orbits in AVF cyclotons through a fully six-dimensional hamiltonians formalism is developed. The design orbit of a particle, the betatron motion and the phase motion are calculated in linear approximation. The `quasi-equilibrium orbit` and dispersion are studied in the framework of the Hamiltonian formalism. 8 refs.
