Abstract
An excimer laser based LIDAR fluorosensor, designed for airborne operation, has been assembled at the ENEA (Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Environment) Centre in Frascati and laboratory measurements on different samples have been performed. Laser induced fluorescence and Raman signals from both liquid and solid targets were detected with the capability of wavelength and time resolution. Results obtained in present preliminary laboratory experiments are being discussed with respect to the identification and quantitative analysis of oil pollutants on sea water and to the probing of vegetation both on land and in the sea.
