Abstract
This report describes a non conventional FEL consisting of a coupled oscillator and amplifier scheme. This device could extend the FEL tunability below 100 nm. The laser tunability and the high peak power make the system a candidate for the ionization process Bi+ = Bi++, required within the context of inertial fusion projects with ions.
