Energy system control: approach through knowledge based systems

Abstract

Applied to energy management and system control, the main benefits from artificial intelligence are: improvement of system behaviour, increased robustness compared to numerical methods, adaptability to installations and users, easy knowledge up-dating, accuracy and preservation of the know-how through a clear expression and accessibility of the knowledge. Problems rise from real-time temporal constraints for highly dynamic systems and from complexity of the knowledge related to energy system control
