Cytogenetic studies on new-borns from high and normal background radiation areas of Kerala coast in south India

Abstract

Human population residing in the monazite area of Kerala is exposed to elevated levels of radiation. Chromosomal aberrations are indicators of radiation induced damages. This paper describes the cytogenetic studies conducted on new born babies. (author). 7 refs.
