Abstract
Uranium is present in trace quantities in almost all geological materials. Studies of the quantity of uranium in various water resources will help to study the mobilization of the trace element to ecosystem. Water samples collected from various water sources from south west coast of India and analysed for uranium, using neutron irradiation and counting fission tracks. It is observed that the concentration of U in sea water is high while that in tap water is low. The range of concentration observed is 2.71 to 0.44 {mu}g/1. (author). 8 refs., 1 tab.
