Abstract
Statistical properties of a noninteracting q-boson system are considered. The accent is put on D=2 and D=3 dimensions. First the mean occupation numbers for the energy levels are given. Subsequently, expressions are derived for the total energy, the specific heat, the entropy and the equation of state. The results differ from the standard ones for ordinary bosons (but converge to them as q{yields}1). In particular, it is found that Bose condensation may occur in D=2 dimensions when q{ne}1.
