The INDRA 4{pi} detector and its physics program

Abstract

INDRA has been constructed by four laboratories (GANIL-Caen, IPN-Orsay, DAPNIA-Saclay and LPC-Caen) with the technical collaboration of the LAL-Orsay. This 4{pi} charged product detector is mainly dedicated to the study of the de-excitation of nuclear systems formed in nucleus-nucleus collisions under peculiar conditions of temperature, compression and Z/A ratios. After a concise description of the detector, the planned research program for the next three years is presented. (author) 16 refs.; 8 figs.; 1 tab.
