Abstract
The aim was to clarify the possibilities for providing future heating supply on the island of Funen, Denmark, by developing decentral cogeneration using natural gas as the main fuel, the utilization of local resources and increasing the amount of heat supplied by the ``Fynsvaerket`` plant. The total energy consumption in relation to heat supply on the island was determined, and the extent and character of actual local resources was examined. Questions related to environmental pollution in this respect are also dealt with. (AB).
