Abstract
The hydrogen detection device is one of the systems used to monitor water leaks inside the steam generators of the SUPER PHENIX power plant. Development of the hydrogen detection code requires a more precise knowledge, on the one hand of the soda dissociation kinetics and, on the other, of the dissolution kinetics and the slip velocity of hydrogen bubbles in liquid sodium. Although the dissolution kinetics of hydrogen are already well known, this is not at all the case for the sodium hydroxide dissociation kinetics in liquid sodium. Results published in the literature vary widely. This is why we are obliged to conduct the MEPHYSTO tests, designed to quantify the parameters mentioned above.
