Abstract
In this paper, the macroscopic MHD behaviour of the RFP plasma produced by the high {Theta} discharge is presented compared with that of the RFP plasma produced by the normal (ordinary) discharge, where {Theta} is the ratio of the poloidal field at the wall to the averaged toroidal field. In the plasma generated by the high {Theta} discharge, the mode coupling is frequently occurred due to its high magnetic shear configuration and the fluctuation is more turbulent. The discrete dynamo, which pulsively generates the toroidal flux in the high {Theta} discharge plasma, is also examined. The results show that the discrete dynamo does not play an essential roll in the RFP dynamo. (author).
