Radiation dose monitoring in urban environments; Controllo radiologico in un ambiente urbano

Abstract

With the aim of establishing adeguate radiation dose monitoring procedures for urban areas in the event of Chernobyl type incidents, this paper reports the results of a radiometric survey carried out in the years 1987-1990, in the urban environment of Rome. A preliminary assessment of effective dose equivalents deriving from external exposure for two citizen classes with diverse living habits is also made.
