On the transverse size of a fast moving nucleon

Abstract

On the basis of the relativistic Yukawa potential it is shown that the nucleon `transverse size` corresponding to equipotential values grows with increasing its energy as (ln{gamma}){sup 0.8}-ln{gamma} ({gamma} is the Lorentz-factor) due to the field of virtual spin mesons. The opinion is expressed that the known growth of the interaction cross section is probably just due to the indicated reason. 4 refs.; 1 tab.
