Abstract
The effective non-leptonic {Delta}S = 1 Lagrangian up to dimension eight operators is derived within the Standard Model to the leading order in strong interactions. An application of the obtained results for solving the long standing problem of the considerable enhancement of the {Delta}T = 1/2 amplitudes in kaon decays is briefly discussed. (author). 7 refs.
