Abstract
A situation and achievements of NEDO`s research and development of coal technology are presented. The coal technology involves development of liquefaction technologies for brown coal and bituminous coal, and gasification technologies for integrated coal gasification combined cycle power generation and coal-based hydrogen production. This report is composed of ``Current situation of developments of coal liquefaction and gasification``, ``Development of coal liquefaction technology. Development of bituminous coal liquefaction technology (Research with a pilot plant)``, ``Development of coal liquefaction technology. Development of bituminous coal liquefaction technology (Progress of research and development with a 1t/d process support unit)``, ``Development of coal liquefaction technology. Results of Australian brown coal liquefaction project``, ``Development of coal liquefaction technology. Development of common infrastructure technology (Development of let down valves)``, ``Development of coal-based hydrogen production technology. Research using a pilot plant``, and ``Development of an entrained-flow coal gasification power generation pilot plant. Status of development of 200t/d entrained-flow coal gasification power generation plant``. The research and developments are in the stage of research using the pilot plants. 37 figs., 21 tabs.
