Abstract
An overview of Austrian contributions to reactor safety research is given. Starting with licensing for the power plant Zwentendorf and research at the safety projects PBF and LOFT the work shifted later to participation at international standard problems of OECD and IAEA. Since 1988 the centre of activity is the source term behaviour of accident sequences for Russian type reactors. As an example the results of a source term calculation for a TMBL`-sequence are presented. (author).
