Abstract
Two computer codes using LAPACK Fortran routines as inserted in the NAG Fortran Library version 15 are presented. The first code is a Finite element method Fortran code for the analysis of geometrically nonlinear thin shells, the second one is an improved version of a code based on an algebraic scattering theory for heavy ions. Use and choice of NAG routines is discussed, with reference to computing times, memory occupation and accuracy.
