Abstract
A general purpose mobile Lidar Fluorosensor has been designed and assembled at the ENEA (Italian Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment) Centre in Frascati and has been extensively employed for environmental monitoring. The instrument is capable of remotely sensing the laser induced optical radiation from the illuminated targets, and to analyse it both in the spectral and in the temporal domains, in order to retreive chemical-physical features of the targets themselves. Applications to the detection of soil pollutants such as heavy metals and organic/inorganic compounds are presented here.
