Abstract
The processes controlling the dispersion of effluents discharged from submerged outfalls, are numerous and complicated. For the management of the water quality near the discharge point it is very important to have instruments to evaluate the near-field dispersion that depends on the hydrological properties of the body receptor and the effluents, on the current velocity and on the technical characteristics of the outfall. For this object it`s possible to use many mathematical models. In this paper it`s described the results of some models that are simple and very pratical.
