Abstract
The report summarises recent research and development programmes carried out in Denmark concerning the conversion of municipal solid wastes to energy and public strategies in this field. Suitable collection systems and handling facilities available for conversion purposes are described. A general, very short introduction to Denmark giving mostly statistical data precedes an explanation of current relevant strategy, research, development and demonstration programmes in the country. A number of source separation and collection systems for solid municipal wastes are described, first the overall idea and then the fraction streams for conversion to energy. Short synopses of relevant projects are presented. (AB)
