Abstract

The in situ densities of rock salt were measured with a gamma-gamma borehole probe while the seismic velocities were determined by means of a hammer-blow test. Material samples were taken from the same locations, and the densities and velocities were determined in the laboratory according to the conventionally employ methods. Values of the compensated bulk density measured in situ (2203 kg/m{sup 3}) are significantly higher than those measured in the laboratory (2176 kg/m{sup 3}). Since the laboratory methods are of great precision, the differences are exlusively attributable to strain on the sample during extraction. The spreading velocities of compression and shear waves of rock salt measured in situ lie above velocities which were measured on the samples and they are also less subject to deviation. Values of 4569 m/s were determined for compression waves and 2604 m/s for shear waves in the course of in situ measurements. The laboratory measurements on samples rendered 4435 m/s, resp. 2502 m/s. The derived parameters Young`s modulus and Poisson`s ratio therefore differ from the dynamic moduli determined in the laboratory (in situ: E=37.5 GPa, {nu}=0.258; laboratory: E=34.6 GPa, {nu}=0.266). (orig./HP) [Deutsch] Es wurden in situ Dichten von Steinsalz mit einer Gamma-Gamma-Bohrlochsonde und Schallgeschwindigkeiten mit einer Hammerschlagapparatur in Bohrloechern gemessen. Von gleichen Orten wurden Materialproben entnommen und die Dichten und Schallgeschwindigkeiten im Labor nach den dort ueblichen Methoden bestimmt. Die in situ gemessenen Werte der kompensierten Bulk-Dichten (2203 kg/m{sup 3}) sind signifikant groesser als die im Labor (2176 kg/m{sup 3}) gemessenen. Da die Laborverfahren eine hohe Genauigkeit haben, sind die Unterschiede ausschliesslich auf die Beanspruchung der Proben bei ihrer Gewinnung zurueckzufuehren. Die in situ gemessenen Ausbreitungsgeschwindigkeiten der Kompressions- und Scherwellen von Steinsalz liegen oberhalb der Geschwindigkeiten, die an den Proben gemessen wurden und streuen weniger. Es werden Werte von 4569 m/s fuer die Kompressionswellen und 2604 m/s fuer die Scherwellen bei den in-situ-Messungen gefunden. Bei den Labormessungen an Proben wurden 4435 m/s bzw. 2502 m/s festgestellt. Die abgeleiteten Parameter Elastizitaetsmoduln und Poisson-Zahlen unterscheiden sich daher von den im Labor bestimmten dynamischen Moduln (in situ: E=37.5 GPa, {nu}=0.258, Labor:E=34.6 GPa, {nu}=0.266). Die geringe Streuung der in-situ-Messwerte kann als Kriterium fuer die Homogenitaet des untersuchten Gebirgsbereiches genutzt werden. (orig./HP)}
