Abstract
The renovation of the Marcoule Liquid Waste Treatment Station, including the construction of the new EVA evaporation unit and general upgrading of the existing facilities, is part of COGEMA`s standing policy of reducing radioactive discharges into the environment and of improving working conditions. Beginning in 1991, this renovation will reduce the radioactive liquid waste release from the site by a factor of 3 to about 15% of the permissible level, and will allow a 20% reduction in the number of bituminized waste packages produced.
