Test of a hadron calorimeter module with photodiode readout between 1 and 10 GeV

Abstract

We report on a test of a modular Cu-scintillator calorimeter 4 hadronic absorption length ({lambda}{sub O}) long and 2{lambda}{sub O} wide. Wavelength shifter bars coupled to rectangular silicon photodiodes are used as readout. Measurements of the calorimeter response to electron and pions, and hadron energy resolution, are presented.
