Abstract
The main goal of the present light quark spectroscopy concerns the exotic mesons because they are signature of new types of confinement of valence quarks and gluons. We review the experimental status of the exotic mesons. We also propose a classification and an interpretation of non quark-antiquark internal structure candidates. (2 tabs., 7 figs.).
