Abstract

The aim of this diploma thesis was to produce the Higgs boson in high-energetic, peripheral heavy-ion collisions by purely electromagnetic processes. In order to take only peripheral collisions into consideration and to avoid the strong hadronic background of central collisions the equivalent-photon method for the case of the Higgs boson was extended concerning an impact-parameter study. By this it was possible to exclude the contribution of central collisions by cut in the impact parameter at b=2R, in order to determine thus the production rate for purely peripheral collisions. (orig./HSI). [Deutsch] Das Ziel dieser Diplomarbeit war es, das Higgs-Boson in hochenergetischen, peripheren Schwerionen-Kollisionen durch rein elektromagnetische Prozesse zu produzieren. Um nur periphere Stoesse in Betracht zu ziehen und um so den starken hadronischen Untergrund zentraler Stoesse zu vermeiden, wurde die aequivalente Photonenmethode fuer den Fall des Higgs-Bosons bezueglich einer Stossparameterstudie erweitert. Dadurch war es moeglich, den Anteil an zentralen Stoessen durch einen Schnitt im Stossparameter bei b = 2 R auszuschliessen, um so die Produktionsrate fuer reine periphere Stoesse zu ermitteln.
