Abstract
The paper describes an approach to quantitative probabilistic assessment of seismic resistance of nuclear power plants. General scheme of NPP seismic reliability assessment is described. A technique is proposed for assessing reliability of plants basic components (ground formations, building structures, process equipment) within the framework of two traditional approaches to the problem of installation seismic resistance: dynamic and linearly-spectral. A quantitative assessment of RBMK-100 plant reliability is presented as an example of probabilistic assessment of nuclear safety function.
